Bandwith was being used up by the super mario file. I didn't want to shoot over my plan's limit so I am forced to remove it. Sorry guys. Search for it on google. The link in December 4th is a redirect to google.

I've got some of my own space now. I've relocated my site. U of T kept deleting my files. It was getting irritating. So, I'm paying for it now and its going to be up as long as I want it to. Seasons greetings all!

I was watching that counter go up so rapidly these past couple months that I thought I would update the site and give it a new look. Hope everyone likes it!

Well, its been a while since I wrote anything here. I assure you that I was mainting the site! =) Almost all of my second year stuff has been posted. Only the ECE231 quizzes need to be posted. I added some stuff under curiosities. I recently received a link to BBC Radio 4's web site that contained a very interesting exploration of 5 interesting numbers: Zero, Pi, Infinity, The Golden Ratio and The Imaginary Number. So, naturally, I copied the material here in case they decide to delete it from their site. The original version is found here:

The one I copied is under curiosities.

I've noticed that the number of students that attend my E&M class has been steadily increasing since the beginning of the school year. Interestingly, our class is at least one whole lecture behind the other classes and yet our class size grows and it seems to me that every day we waste more and more time waiting for class to start. Naturally, the class has not been over booked - that is a mistake that computers only make if the information provided to them is inaccurate in the first place - but at the same time it is not the fault of the students that they wish to engage in a class that to them would be more productive. It is my belief that if the other professors are indeed not doing as good a job as the professor teaching our class then our class should probably be moved to a bigger room. However, in all fairness to the students who are enrolled in this "popular" E&M class; they should indeed be guaranteed a seat as well. I don't know where the line has to be drawn and I'm not one to rise up and take action, but I do think that there is a problem when students who have paid (and some have worked hard for the money to pay) for their tuition, do not get to have a seat. It is also unfair to the students when the class takes 20 minutes to get started simply because the students who should have a seat, don't. Once again, my suggestion is that the class be moved to a bigger room.

Thanks to Marc Lesperance, I was able to recover some old tracks from the 1967 album, "Lady Godiva Memorial Band" - Blows. Now I know that most people think that the LGMB are a bunch of no-talent students just having a good time. Perhaps they are right. But it has not always been so. It seems to me that in the past 36 years, U of T has forgotten what the LGMB stood for. Of course they were a bunch of jokers - but they were a bunch of jokers that practiced hard and had talent. In fact they *won first prize* in the Kiwanis Music Festival for their performance of First Suite for Military Band in E Flat by Gustav Holst. It isn't my intention to say that the LGMB today has no talent - quite the contrary; there are probaby many students who are quite talented, but its difficult to shine without the opportunity.

To illustrate my point, I have uploaded all the tracks from the 1967 album that I recovered to the download section of my site and I strongly urge you to listen to a bit of U of T's history. It is indeed quite amazing.

I've been approached by a few people over the past few weeks who've said that my site was very useful to them. I'd like to tell them that they're welcome and good luck with the rest of their courses. I was happy to be of help.

In other news, I finished writing a song that I've been working on over the Christmas break. I think it's quite nice. I've had mixed reactions from my friends. Some say that it sounds too much like a video game... I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted. Either way, I've posted it under the downloads section if you'd like to hear it!

I have finished adding all the quizzes that I wrote for first semester this year! Seasons greetings. Peace on earth and good will to all men (and women).

Added a mirror to the MAT290 Midterm (just copied it from the MAT290 site).

Added a link to ECE Club. The new ECE common room is very nice. Also added Quiz #1 for MAT291F. I also finally added the picture to the Kaiteur Falls section under curiosities. You have check that out!
I think I have to start dating my quizzes, in case I decide to post other years' material. If someone is willing to help add material to my site, I would be very appreciative to them as I don't always have enough time to type up all my quizzes.

Fixed a very embarrassing spelling error and added a counter.

October 17, 2002
Added ECE212 quiz 1. Added link to MAT291H1F.

October 15, 2002
I've started to add the quizzes and such from this year to my site, and I've added links to all the course web sites under the links section.

I've decided to start keeping a news section here, so that everybody knows when and what it is that I update when I update this page. Two days ago I added a table of trigonometric identities under the Oddities section under the resources menu. I plan to add a table of integrals. If anyone would find this to be beneficial, an e-mail stating as such would be appreciated. E-Mail: jairam@ecf.utoronto.ca
