1. A 300 N load is attached to a small pulley which may roll freely on the
cable ACB. The pulley and load are help in the position shown by a
second cable DE which is parallel to the portion CB of the
main cable. Determine (a) the tension in the cable ACB, (b) the tension
in cable DE. Neglect the radius of the pulleys and the weight of the
cables.

2. The couple aplied at C has an unknown magnitude M. Determine
the range of values of M for which the line of action of the resultant
of the system will intersect the bracket.

3. A 5 by 8 m sign of unifrom density weighs 2700 N and is supported by a ball
and socket at A and by two cables. Determine the tension in each cable
and the reaction at A.
